The Kanohi Kualhai is the Mask of Shield Surge.

The Kanohi Kualhai allows the wearer to increase the defenses of themselves and their allies, bolstering their survivability by encasing their bodies in a close-fitting shield of energy that functions as an ablative defense whilst still giving them a full range of movement and attacking capability.

A Kualhai Nuva is created when a destined Kualhai is dipped in Energized Protodermis. In addition to its standard abilities, the shield it generates is even stronger, and its power can be shared with individuals near the user; however, it can only be used by Nuva beings.

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to cause a being within 30ft (this can be the wearer) to gain Xd8 THP, where X is equal to twice the number of Kanohi Charges spent.

Noble

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to cause a being within 30ft (this can be the wearer) to gain Xd8 THP, where X is equal to the number of Kanohi Charges spent.

Great Nuva

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to cause a being within 30ft (this can be the wearer) to gain Xd10 THP, where X is equal to twice the number of Kanohi Charges spent.

Noble Nuva

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to cause a being within 30ft (this can be the wearer) to gain Xd10 THP, where X is equal to the number of Kanohi Charges spent.

Additional notes

If the wearer or another being within 30ft is struck by an attack whose damage would reduce their HP below half, the wearer may spend 1 KC as a Reaction to have the target of the attack gain 1d8 (Noble) or 2d8 (Great) Temporary Hit Points. These THP are gained before the damage is taken.
