History

Little is currently known about the history of Ontahura.

Landscape

Famous for its hot springs and unique vegetation, Ontahura is also known for harboring the largest Ta-Matoran population outside of Metru Nui. Due to the abundance of hot water below ground, mining is difficult in the region and only practiced in certain places, despite rich natural resources being present, as with everywhere else in the south of the Southern Continent. To make up for it, Ontahura has become an industrial center, utilizing the thermal energy below the region to power its factories. While Ontahura’s goods play very little role in the northern part of the universe, where competition is strong, it is the primary supplier for many regions further south. For that reason, Ontahura also still retains strong connections to Monuhi, with most of its investors being Ihaugafe.
