Udunogawai (Southern Continent)

Udunogawai, also known as the Southern Continent, is the largest landmass in the Matoran Universe.

History

Due to the Southern Continent’s size, long ago it found itself caught between the armies of three Barraki: Mantax, Kalmah, and Pridak. While Mantax retained control of the southern provinces, the northern regions were taken by Pridak and Kalmah, and to this day remain more integrated with the northern islands than with the southern side of the continent itself.

Landscape

As the largest landmass in the Matoran universe, the Southern Continent is home to a large number of species and a variety of environments. The center of the continent is a desert ringed by high mountains, and the southern regions are divided from the rest of the continent by the Tren Krom River, the largest waterway in the universe and the primary local trade route.

During the Great Cataclysm, the Southern Continent suffered significant damage, with part of its landmass even breaking off and vanishing beyond the universe’s borders. The massive gap left in its wake a waterfall from the heavens, whose water possessed dangerous mutagenic effects and soon formed a great lake.
