== History ==
When Voya Nui was rocketed to the surface of [[Aqua Magna]] during the [[Great Cataclysm]], the bay was created. Shortly afterward, the active volcano [[Mount Valmai]] erupted and formed a new section of land over the bay on which the coastal city of [[Mahri Nui]] was created. It was not until Mahri Nui broke off and fell into the sea that this bay was formed again. Because of its strong currents, the only safe way to land on Voya Nui was through the [[Lagoon Entrance]].

Following the [[Battle Against Vezon]], the [[Kanohi]] [[Ignika]] flew up from the [[Chamber of Life]] and plunged into the bay, where it was followed by [[Toa Inika]] [[Hahli]] who nearly drowned, being rescued by a [[Ta-Matoran]] from Mahri Nui who subsequently died.

Since Voya Nui's return to its position on the Southern Continent, the waters of Voya Nui Bay have become a part of the waters of Aqua Magna.
