== History ==
The Venom Flyer species was created by the [[Makuta]] using [[Virus]]es and [[Protodermis#Liquid Protodermis|Liquid Protodermis]] to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the [[Matoran Universe]].{{BookCitation|MGttU|63}}

After the [[Visorak (Rahi)|Visorak]] horde was conquered by the [[Brotherhood of Makuta]], Venom Flyers were chosen to travel with Visorak squads to neutralize flying targets.{{BookCitation|BEU|page=151|entryname=Venom Flyers}} They were also used to deliver messages between the [[Dark Hunters]] and Brotherhood.{{BookCitation|BA10|69}}

When the Visorak horde was eliminated by the volcanic eruption on [[Artidax]], the Venom Flyers dispersed. However, Makuta [[Teridax]] soon took control of the Matoran Universe and recreated the Visorak, and the Venom Flyers rejoined the horde.{{GregCitation|OGDi|page=237|post=9447|lines=8,20}}
