== History ==
The Shore Turtle species was created by the [[Makuta]] using [[Virus]]es and [[Protodermis#Liquid Protodermis|Liquid Protodermis]] to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the [[Matoran Universe]].{{BookCitation|MGttU|63}}

Shore Turtles took up residence on the [[Southern Continent]] and [[Metru Nui]]. When the region of [[Voya Nui]] was propelled to the [[Aqua Magna|ocean's surface]] by the [[Great Cataclysm]], some Shore Turtles took residence on the new island. At the same time, the Shore Turtles of Metru Nui fled to the island of {{p|Mata Nui|Location}}, where they dwelled in and around [[Le-Koro]].

During the [[Great War]], Makuta [[Teridax]] [[Infected Kanohi|infected]] a number of these Shore Turtles.{{MediaCitation|QftT}} However, they were not particularly dangerous and failed to cause as much trouble as his other Rahi servants.
