== History ==
The Place of Shadow was carefully avoided by [[Matoran]] and [[Bohrok]] alike. [[Toa Nuva]] [[Tahu]], [[Gali]], and [[Kopaka]] searched for the [[Kanohi Nuva]] in the Place of Shadow during the Bohrok-Kal's strike. The [[Toa]] of [[Fire]] and [[Ice]] struggled to cooperate throughout the journey, but managed to safely avoid an avalanche and multiple illusions summoned by the Makuta. The Toa finally located the [[Akaku Nuva|Akaku]], [[Miru Nuva|Miru]] and [[Pakari Nuva]] and retrieved them, unknowingly triggering a trap set by Teridax. As they were joined by [[Turaga]] [[Vakama]], [[Lewa]], [[Onua]] and [[Pohatu]], they encountered the [[Rahi Nui]]. Turaga Vakama trapped and bested the beast with the power of his [[Kanohi#Noble Kanohi|Noble Kanohi]] [[Huna]] after the Toa were unsuccessful in their attempts to fend off the creature. The group then left the canyon unharmed.

The Place of Shadow was destroyed by the awakening of the Great Spirit {{p|Mata Nui|Being}}.
