== History ==
The Manutri species was created by the [[Makuta]] using [[Virus]]es and [[Protodermis#Liquid Protodermis|Liquid Protodermis]] to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the [[Matoran Universe]].{{BookCitation|MGttU|63|entryname=The Makuta}} A population of Manutri made its home on the [[Southern Continent]].

When the [[Great Cataclysm]] tore [[Voya Nui]] from the Southern Continent and sent it to the surface of [[Aqua Magna]], several Manutri survived the voyage and continued to live on the newly-formed island. For 1,000 years, the Manutri lived in the [[Ring of Ice]] around the island and would spend most of their time fishing.
